What’s [Self] Love Got To Do With it? [Success]

By September 15, 2015 No Comments

Rumi QuoteI spent the first part of my life trying to be anything but myself.

I am an empath. That is, I have the ability to powerfully feel other people’s feelings (particularly when they are trying not to feel them themselves). I have an acute sensitivity to, and awareness of, energy – and emotions are energy.
I am also clairaudient and clairsentient.
Clairaudience (clear hearing) is one of the four metaphysical senses, the others being clairvoyant (clear seeing), clairsentient (clear sensing), and claircognizant (clear knowing). It is one of your four metaphysical senses in addition to your five physical senses. (hearing, touch, taste, smell, sight).

It’s a hard thing to live with if you don’t understand it.

As a child, I did not realize everyone didn’t have these abilities. I figured out fairly early on that when you see and hear things other people don’t, they label you “crazy”.

With this hyper-awareness, certain environments and people can feel extremely toxic, so I learned to shut down much of my awareness as a form of self-protection. The result was that much of the time I wasn’t really fully present.

To be fully present means to feel it all. So many of us take ourselves out of presence. We shut down, numb out, zone out. Using alcohol, arguments, chaos, drugs, overwork…to distract ourselves so we don’t have to be fully present and feel the things we deem to be painful. To make it easier to be here.

The problem with that is, full presence is required to experience life fully, to connect with the clients you are to serve and with your loved ones. It’s the secret sauce of charismatic leaders, powerful speakers and super achievers.

To be fully present means giving the gift of you, fully.
It has been a journey to love and accept the gift of this sensitivity. There were many times it felt more like a curse!

I have had to learn to walk through the world with all its pain and exquisite joy and be present to ALL of it. To bear witness to it all. As I have chosen to do this, my life has become so much more joyful and abundant and my business has become more and more successful!

Learning to love and accept yourself is a requirement – if you want to have an amazing life and business. (and I know you do, or you wouldn’t be reading this)

It requires unlearning a lot of what we were taught. (shame, blame, criticism)

It requires releasing judgement and embracing all the aspects of the human experience.

It requires healing – acceptance and integration of the parts that make up the whole.

It’s ironic that this gift of sensitivity and intuition is one of my greatest assets and serves my clients by allowing me to help them identify and shift the mental patterns and beliefs that create overwhelm, confusion and self doubt and cause them to self sabotage or play small.

It is fear-based thinking that diminishes our ability to show up – and shine – as our most powerful and authentic self.

So in order to get different results (be more successful) you have to first become aware of where your thoughts, words and actions are not aligned with what you want to accomplish and experience.

Then you have to shift how you are BEING.
It takes practice. It takes awareness. It’s a process. Be kind and gentle with yourself along the way.

Success begins and ends with you.

Will you BE yourself?
Who is that self anyway?
That’s the journey of self-discovery. Discovering who you really are. How consistent, how tenacious, how committed, how powerful, how disciplined, how driven, how focused, how flexible, how energetic, how loving, how kind, how connected, how open, how willing, how authentic, how loyal, how fearful, how courageous, how creative, how brave – you are.
AND …
Choosing to love and accept the self you discover yourself to be – right now
THEN…
Deciding how you have to BE (think and act) different in order to align with what you want to experience. It is a journey that ultimately requires action – in spite of … (insert your particular challenges here)

Will you?
