A few weeks ago I was completing the intake form for my new coach. One of the questions asked: “Where are you consistently letting your clients down?”.
My instinctive response was a defensive, indignant “I’m NOT!”. (Lol!)
Noticing my rapid and reactive response, I took a breath and asked myself: “If you were, where would that be?”. I suddenly remembered a comment a private client had made about 6 months earlier – that she wished I had a mastermind group. A community that she could plug into.
Wow… That was it! That was the answer. That was where I was letting my clients down. By not having a community they could mastermind with.
I know how much I have benefited from, and enjoyed being a part of, the communities my coaches had created. The connections I’ve made; having the support of others of like mind – who are on the same journey as me – has been invaluable!
To not feel alone… or strange for being who I am, or for wanting the things I do … priceless!
That one question opened me up to thinking about how I could serve on a bigger level. It opened up my next level of expansion – creating my new 6 month coaching program: The SOAR Mastermind Program.
That is the power of a great question!
When you ask a question, the brain automatically starts looking for answers (solutions). It opens up possibilities and gets the creative juices flowing! The quality of the question definitely impacts the quality of the answer
A great question can make you see things from a whole new perspective and entertain possibilities that were not previously in your realm of awareness.
What is a Mastermind?
The concept of the “Mastermind” was developed by Napoleon Hill, author of the popular book: “Think and Grow Rich”. It is designed to help you navigate through challenges using the collective intelligence of a group. “Where two or more are gathered, therein lies a third mind – the mastermind”. (if you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it).
Here are some of the benefits to being in a mastermind group:
1 – You are part of a community of like minded individuals with a common purpose.
2 – Connection & Support. Once you are involved in a mastermind, that feeling of “being alone” while running your business is gone.
3 – Collaboration. There are people to help brainstorm creative ideas for projects or give a different perspective on a problem.
4 – Extend your network. Joining a mastermind expands your network exponentially and rapidly.
5 – New Learning. Everyone in the mastermind has unique skills, experience and connections you can tap into.
6 – Cross-promotion. Finding ways to help each other through promoting to your respective networks.
7 – Think bigger. Being in a mastermind will truly give you a Master Mind! You can’t help but think bigger and stretch beyond your boundaries when surrounded by amazing people doing amazing things. (I wrote about the power of environment in my previous post. You can read it here.)
